The Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets set a new NBA record for combined three-point attempts in a single game on Monday.

The two teams combined to shoot 89 three-pointers, breaking the previous record by one. The Rockets made 20 of their 50 attempts from behind the arc in a 117-103 home victory.

James Harden, who scored a game-high 37 points with 10 rebounds and eight assists, hit eight of 13 from beyond the arc, including 5 for 5 from deep in the first quarter alone. The Beard had 25 points at halftime. The Nets switched to a makeshift zone to start the second half, seemingly daring the Rockets to beat them with anyone besides Harden. Though this worked for a bit, the supporting cast for Houston ended up hitting their stride and building a similar lead to what they had in the first quarter.

Seventeen different players attempted a three-pointer in the game, and Nets guard Caris LeVert (0 for five) and forward Quincy Acy (0 for three) were the only players to attempt multiple and miss them all.
The Rockets (16-4) also earned their fifth straight win, moving them a game ahead of the Golden State Warriors (15-5) in the Western Conference.
