NBA Trade Rumors: Blake Griffin Could Join Celtics From Clippers In Three-Team Deal
The Boston Celtics, Sacramento Kings, and LA Clippers are rumored to be in talks to move several significant players. For one, All Star Blake Griffin is, according to this particular trade rumor, will go to the Celtics, with Rudy Gay and a Nets 1st rounder going to LA, and Jae Crowder going to Sacramento. While this might seem like a dumb trade for LA, with Blake becoming a free agent after next season this could be a great opportunity for the Clippers to regroup in a year that should be stacked in the Draft, and seems likely impossible that any team other than the Warriors and Cavs will be raising any trophies next season. Getting Rudy Gay along with the pick could keep the Clippers competitive at least for one more year, and could potentially help them avoid the full on rebuild like the Sixers if they obtain a franchise player in the 2017 draft.
